BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair Inc., San Diego, Calif., has been awarded a contract worth more than $200 million to perform maintenance, modernization, and repair on the U.S. Navy’s San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay (LPD 20).

Under the contract, BAE Systems will provide all labor, supervision, equipment, production, testing, facilities, and quality assurance necessary to support the Chief of Naval Operations availability for critical modernization and maintenance programs. The work is expected to be completed by October 2026.

BAE Systems was the sole bidder for the contract, which has been awarded by Naval Sea Systems Command. The total value of the firm-fixed-price contract is $212,116,278, with options that, if exercised, could bring the total value to $238,814,885.

USS Green Bay was built by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, Pascagoula, Miss., and commissioned in January 2009. The 684’ ship is designed to embark, transport, and land elements of a landing force for expeditionary warfare missions.
