The new tugs will be similar in design to the Barry Silverton, delivered by Conrad to Harley Marine in October 2015.
Morgan City, La.-based Conrad Shipyard and Seattle-based Harley Marine Services have signed a contract to build a pair of 116' articulated tug/barge unit tugs.
Designed by Entech Designs LLC, Kenner, La., the ATB tugs will be powered by twin GE 6L250, Tier 4 diesel engines, producing 2,280 hp each.
No other specifics about the outfitting of the boats were available. Conrad has previously built tugs for Harley.
