Audubon Engineering Company (Audubon) has secured a significant contract for bp’s Kaskida project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The contract entrusts Audubon with the topside engineering and design of the Kaskida floating production unit (FPU), a critical component of bp’s latest Gulf development.

Audubon’s approach to the Kaskida project will leverage its proven design philosophies aimed at reducing cycle time, ensuring the project progresses efficiently from design to completion. The company’s experience in this domain is well-established, having successfully delivered topside designs for notable semisubmersibles like Delta House, King’s Quay, and Shenandoah. These past successes underscore Audubon’s ability to deliver innovative and effective offshore solutions.

“Our engineering team brings decades of experience in designing and delivering top-tier offshore platforms,” said Terry Mienie, Executive Vice President of Offshore at Audubon. “We are excited to partner with bp on Kaskida, applying our expertise to ensure the project is developed safely and optimally.”

David Robison, Audubon’s CEO, emphasized the significance of the project: “Kaskida represents a tremendous opportunity for Audubon to demonstrate our engineering capabilities on one of the most important oil and gas plays in U.S. history. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional results for bp and supporting their production objectives in the Gulf of Mexico.”

Engineering work on the Kaskida FPU has already commenced, with Audubon focused on the topside design while EXMAR Offshore is responsible for designing the hull. The collaboration is poised to deliver a state-of-the-art production unit that meets bp’s rigorous standards and timeline.
