Vigor Marine LLC, Portland, Ore., has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Navy to perform maintenance, modernization and repair work on the USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10).
The $55,881,631 firm-fixed-price contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $65,987,455. Vigor was one of two shipyards that submitted a bid for the project.
Work will be performed in Seattle and is expected to be completed by May 2026.
USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS-10) is a 418′ Independence-class littoral combat ship built by Austal USA, Mobile, Ala., and commissioned in June 2017. The ship is homeported in San Diego.
Littoral combat ships are designed for operations in shallow, coastal waters, where they conduct a variety of missions, including anti-submarine warfare, mine countermeasures, and surface warfare.
