The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony tomorrow in Staten Island, to commemorate and honor the sacrifices of first responders and victims of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Coast Guard Sector New York is hosting the event which will be attended by personnel from local New York Coast Guard units. The ceremony will honor the fallen and recognize the Coast Guard's role during the maritime evacuation of Lower Manhattan on 9/11.
Who: Adm. Karl Schultz, Coast Guard Commandant; Rear Adm. Thomas Allan, Coast Guard First District commander; and Capt. Zeita Merchant, Coast Guard Sector New York commander.
