Campbell Transportation Co. Inc. (CTC), Houston, Pa., has agreed to acquire the majority of marine assets owned by NGL Marine LLC, Tulsa, Okla.
Campbell said the acquisition will be another step forward in its strategic plan to diversify its marine business line. The sale is estimated to close by the end of March.
According to its website, NGL owns 13 towboats ranging from 1,450 hp to 2,600 hp, and 23 tank barges, all 297'6"x54'. Nine of the towboats are 2,600 hp. NGL transports bulk oil products.
Once the agreement is completed, CTC will own or operate over 1,250 barges throughout the inland waterway system, including 95 tank barges and more than 60 towboats. The fleet operates in both the dry cargo and liquid cargo trades.
