A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater helicopter crew rescued a man and dog from a disabled and sinking 36-foot sailing vessel 25 miles off Sanibel Island, Fla.

On Sept. 26 an aviation survival technician from Air Station Clearwater hoisted the man and his dog. A dramatic video recorded by the rescue swimmer shows him helping the sailor and his dog off the heaving boat, and safely into a basket to make the helicopter hoist.

Both were reportedly in good health and taken to Southwest Florida International Airport to meet with emergency medical services.
