Heavy steel fabricator, Twin Brothers Marine (TBM), Franklin, La., has announced its participation in an infrastructure development project supporting offshore wind energy initiatives along the Northeast. Known for its work in the oil and gas sector, the move signifies the company's expansion into the renewable energy market.
Under the project, TBM will fabricate and deliver 3,000 tons of structural components for a support facility dedicated to offshore wind energy. The facility will serve as a staging area and drop-off point for vessels involved in offshore wind operations, providing maintenance support for wind energy infrastructure.
This marks TBM’s first large-scale engagement in offshore wind and its most significant project in the renewable energy industry to date, a TBM press release noted. While the company has a long history of serving the offshore oil and gas market, the company noted its expertise in heavy steel fabrication positions it well for the demands of offshore wind development.
TBM’s Renewable division applies decades of experience in offshore fabrication to the wind sector, providing components such as rolled tubulars for piling, pressure vessels, and tunnel liners.
“This project represents a major milestone for Twin Brothers Marine as we expand our footprint in the renewable energy sector,” said TBM President Darrell J. Webster. “We are proud to support initiatives that pave the way for a more sustainable future, and this endeavor underscores our dedication to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.”
