2024 Construction Survey

WorkBoat's 2024 Construction Survey reveals a significant shift driven by the growing use of non-disclosure clauses (NDCs) in newbuild contracts. These NDCs have limited access to commercial build data, pushing government and military projects to the forefront of the report. Despite those limitations, total reported newbuilds jumped by over 34%—from 690 in 2023 to 925 in 2024. And that’s a conservative estimate, as some yards only report partial lists or opt out entirely.

The survey captures a dynamic snapshot of the industry, highlighting vessels under contract, in progress, or delivered over the past 12 months—offering valuable insight into the state of the workboat market.
