A 700-metric-ton Marine Travelift has made its debut at Bridgeport Boatworks in Bridgeport, Ct. The addition augments the 75- and 200-ton lifts already in operation. Bridgeport Boatworks specializes in servicing recreational yachts as well as commercial vessels of most shapes and sizes.
The yard is an integral part of the Steelpointe redevelopment initiative in Bridgeport Harbor. Following the success of Bass Pro Shops, Chipotle, Starbucks, and T-Mobile and Boca waterfront restaurant North Sales, Bridgeport Harbor is under a true renaissance and Boatworks is proud to play its part in a remarkable revitalization of such an important Bridgeport asset, shipyard officials said.
Steelpointe Harbor, where the shipyard is located, is accessible from Long Island Sound with a 35' channel depth, suitable for most big boats. The maximum beam of the new lift is 54', with no overhead height restrictions within the harbor.
