Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace has announced a five-year procurement contract with the U.S. Navy for the delivery of Naval Strike Missiles (NSM). The contract is valued at $896 million, marking the largest missile contract in Kongsberg’s history. .

The NSM will be delivered to both the U.S. Navy and the Fleet Marine Force, playing a central role in the Navy's Over-the-Horizon Weapons System (OTH-WS) program. The NSM will be installed on U.S. Littoral Combat Ships and the new Constellation-class frigates. The missiles will also be provided as part of the US Marine Corps' Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) program.

Kongsberg CEO, Geir Håøy, expressed satisfaction with the contract, noting the company’s long-standing relationship with the United States as a key industry partner. He emphasized the importance of the contract in strengthening defense capabilities for both the US and Norway.

The Kongsberg-developed NSM has been in service since 2012 and is known for its operational performance and survivability against enemy defenses, the Kongsberg statement said. The missile is currently used by several countries, including Norway, the U.S., Poland, Romania, Canada, Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Latvia.
