Silver Ships recently announced the delivery of a 35' hydrographic survey catamaran to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Detroit District. A Silver Ships statement noted the vessel's design is intended to support hydrographic surveying operations, essential to USACE’s mission of maintaining navigable waterways.
The catamaran features a hull design optimized for stability and precision in surveying tasks, the statement said. The vessel is powered by twin Mercury SeaPro 500-hp outboards and equipped with a Furuno navigation suite. The vessel also incorporates sonar and mapping technologies.
Silver Ships highlighted a focus on "performance in demanding environments" during the design and construction of the build. The new vessel includes workstations, ergonomic controls, and the latest survey equipment to enhance productivity and safety, the company said.
